Promising results from ENPI negotiations in Hämeenlinna 17.-18.6.2009 |

A joint meeting between the European Commission, Russian Federation and EU Members States was held in Hämeenlinna just before the Midsummer. Target of the meeting was to find solutions to proceed with the Financing Agreement, which is to be signed between European Commission and Russian Federation before the ENPI-programmes can be opened.Negotiations were successful and as a result Russian Federation was committed to sign the Financing Agreement by the beginning of October, Open Days 2009 in Brussels was mentioned to be the possible place and time. Final information about the total amount of the Russian national financing for the programme will be given in the Financing Agreement. Rules and regulations and practices for the Russian National Financing will be the same as they are for the EU-financing. With this timetable it would be possible to launch the first call for proposals in November and first financing contracts might be done during next spring. As soon as the Joint Monitoring Committee confirms the launching of the first call for proposals we will start an info tour around the Programme area.
